WIRES Introduces New Wildlife Rehabilitation Governance Courses in Collaboration with NPWS

WIRES recognises that effective governance is crucial for the success of any organisation, ensuring efficiency, accountability, and structural integrity. As Australia’s largest wildlife organisation, WIRES is proud to play a role in fostering a stronger, more accountable wildlife rehabilitation community.

WIRES is glad to announce its latest support for the sector in three brand-new governance courses specifically designed for the wildlife rehabilitation sector in NSW, developed in partnership with the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS).

The newly developed Wildlife Rehabilitation Governance Courses are tailored to assist licensed wildlife rehabilitation groups in establishing and maintaining effective governance practices. These courses primarily target new and existing committee members, trainers, species coordinators, and mentors.

The Courses

  1. Wildlife Rehabilitation Leadership Course: This course focuses on developing strong leadership skills essential for effectively managing wildlife rehabilitation organisations.
  2. Wildlife Rehabilitation Conflict Resolution Course: Participants will learn valuable conflict resolution techniques to handle and mitigate disputes that may arise within wildlife rescue groups.
  3. Wildlife Rehabilitation Train the Trainer Course: This course is designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills to become trainers within the wildlife rehabilitation sector, enabling them to pass on their knowledge and expertise.

Get Involved

To access detailed course information and register, interested individuals can visit WIRES National Governance Training NSW page. Wildlife rehabilitation professionals are encouraged to share this information with their networks, or they can reach out directly to training@wires.org.au for further details.

For WIRES Members
